Abstract:
In Mi Vida ore deposit (Cu-Mo), a small area within the Carudo Breccia (an Upper Miocene diatreme with abundant metamorphic fragments) was affected by an episode of advanced argillic alteration characterized by the quartz-pyrophyllite-alunite-zunyite-rutile association. The conditions proposed for this alteration are temperatures within the range 350-400°C and pressures below 1 kbar in the presence of F and absence of Ca. These rocks can be related to those of Capillitas ore deposit (Cu-Pb-Zn, As-Sb-Au-Ag), but the former were formed under higher temperature conditions. The presence of zunyite could be useful for detecting this type of alteration zone by remote sensing methods. -English summary
