Abstract:

Mathematical models are fundamental tools to predict the behaviour of dynamical processes arising in different disciplines. To warranty a reliable numerical simulated data we need to choose a model that reflects the dynamics together with suitable parameter values. In this work we study the parameter estimation problem for the Baranyi model for bacterial growth. We apply an optimal design technique to a set of measured values of the Salmonellae growth available in the literature. © 2013 Springer.
