Abstract:
The dynamical interactions of swift heavy projectiles and solid inner-shell electrons were studied. The dielectric formalism was used to deal with free-electron gas to account for the core electrons. Stopping power, energy straggling, and inner-shell ionization in collisions of bare ions with metals were investigated. Results were found to be in agreement with the experiment.
