Abstract:
The process of suppression of hydrogenic projectile-electron excitations in collision with metal free electron-gas was investigated. The responses of free electron-gas were evaluated using Mermin-Lindhard dielectric functions. The values of projectile excitation and loss probabilities with respect to the collision of wave packets was reported. The plasmon excitation contributions were analyzed using the binary and collisional formalism.
