Abstract:

Electron capture from the K shell by protons is calculated by using the exact on-shell impulse and eikonal wave functions in the final and initial channels, respectively. Both wave functions have the proper normalization and asymptotic conditions. A good agreement with available experiments is found. © 1988 The American Physical Society.
