Abstract:
We present a theory for electron capture to the continuum states of neutral helium projectiles in ionization collisions. This calculation includes a complete evaluation of the s-wave Jost function for the interaction of the electron with the helium atom in the ground 1 1S and metastable 2 1S and 2 3S states. We compare this model with newly available experimental results, finding a very good agreement.
