Abstract:

The effect of several transition metal halides on the rates and product distribution of the carbonylation of lithium-3-oxatetramethylenamide and lithium-pentamethylenamide in THF at 0°C was examined: It was found that whereas Ni(II) has almost no effect, Cu(I), Co(II) and Cr(III) produce a noticeable inhibition, presumably due to the formation of hetero transition metal-lithium complexes. © 1995, Walter de Gruyter.
