Abstract:
4-14CMevalonic acid, 5-14Cmevalonic acid, and 1- 14Cdimethylallyl alcohol are efficient precursors of the furanoquinoline alkaloid skimmianine in Fagara coco; degradation results confirm the isoprenoid origin of C-2 and C-3 of the furan ring of the alkaloid.
