Abstract:
A time-dependent mean field approximation is applied to a simple bosonic model that is related to the phase transition from spherical to deformed nuclei. It is shown that this approximation is very appropriate for the detection of this phase transition. A method for extracting matrix elements is developed and applied for the two-particle transfer operator in this model. © 1991 The American Physical Society.
