Abstract:
The broadening of single-fermion levels in a heat reservoir where two quantal harmonic vibrations have been located is examined. The oscillations are assumed to couple to the fermionic system and to directly among themselves. The equations of motion of both the macroscopic and the microscopic coordinates are set and the kinetic collision rates are evaluated in the relaxation time approximation for different macroscopic configurations. Information regarding the evolution of the Fermi sea is thus obtained and analyzed. © 1987.
