Abstract:

Exact solutions of the Vlasov-Poisson equations near a steady state or time-dependent nonlinear electrostatic plasma configuration are given. The perturbative solutions are presented in one- and three-dimensional cases. These are special, stable, free oscillatory modes, or forced oscillatory modes, in a plasma with non-uniformity of any amplitude. © 1987.
