By means of a summation procedure it is shown that, by assuming random a priori phases, the evolution equation for the density matrix operator consists only of connected diagrams. In the second part of the paper, a procedure to reduce sets of diagrams to more compact expressions is outlined; in particular the expression for the sum of all the diagrams with four lines is obtained.
