Abstract:
In 1942, several human skeletal remains from the ravines of Mata Molle, a secondary creek of Neuquen province, NW Patagonia, Argentina. They were interstratified in the upper portion of a 2.60m thick sandy stratum, covered by more than 2m of peaty sediments. Groeber estimated a minimal age of 6000 BP. A series of 14C dates obtained from the peaty sediments deposited later, and from nekron muds deposited earlier than the skull strata, were 2430 and 4550 BP, respectively. -English summary
