Abstract:

Estradiol treatment of ovariectomized rats resulted in a significant increase in β-adrenoceptor density in the medial basal hypothalamus (MBH) without affecting the affinity for the radioactive ligand. Neither MBH α-adrenoceptors nor α- or β-adrenoceptors in the cerebral cortex, or β-adrenoceptors in the pineal gland, were affected by estradiol injection. © 1980.
