Abstract:
An efficient Monte Carlo approach is developed for calculating arbitrary physical properties of disordered linear chains. We study in particular the density of states and the spectral density in the disordered chain of oscillators, and the electrical conductivity in the tight-binding alloy. Representative numerical results are shown for all cases. © 1976 The American Physical Society.
