The overall effectiveness factor and the selectivity of a partially wetted catalyst pellet in a trickle bed reactor has been evaluated for a complex reaction of the parallel-consecutive type. The effect of the reaction order, Biot number and wetting efficiency when the limiting reactant is in the gaseous phase is discussed.
