Abstract:

The overall effectiveness factor and the selectivity of a partially wetted catalyst pellet in a trickle bed reactor has been evaluated for a complex reaction of the parallel-consecutive type. The effect of the reaction order, Biot number and wetting efficiency when the limiting reactant is in the gaseous phase is discussed. A cood aareement is found between the numerical and an aDDroximate analytical solution. © 1986, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. All rights reserved.
