Abstract:
The cell walls of Sophora microphylla, S. macrocarpa and S. secundiflora are similar, and are formed of a loose reticulate of small amounts of weakly organized cellulose microfibrils and xyloglucans. This facilitates wall swelling, while a matrix network of hydrophilic arabinogalactans controls the absorption and retention of water. © 1994.
