Abstract:
Using a simplified multiperipheral model, we study the behavior of the longitudinal pion spectrum for the process pp→π+ anything in the region of small values of x=2pc.m.s12. We expect the occurrence of an inverted cusp in the spectrum at very large energies and the appearance of noticeable effects at the energies of the CERN intersecting storage rings. © 1971 The American Physical Society.
