Abstract:
During a survey of the genus Morganella and based on the examination of herbarium material only, three species were recorded from South America: Morganella costaricensis, M. fuliginea and M. velutina. M. puiggarii is proposed as a synonym of M. fuliginea. The genus appears to be of temperate to pantropical distribution.
