Abstract:
The hydrazides of 4-nitrodiphenic acid were prepared and the structure of the single monohydrazide obtained was determined. N,N′-bis-[o-(2-carboxyphenyl)benzoyl]hydrazines were prepared from the substituted diphenic acids and it was shown that treatment with acetic anhydride removes water, forming products that may be oxadiazoles. © 1943, American Chemical Society.
