Abstract:

1. 1. Acute Intermittent Porphyria patients in early or acute attacks were treated with folic acid (30 mg/day) administered orally for not longer than 10 days. 2. 2. Both clinical and biochemical improvement immediately followed folic acid administration. 3. 3. This is a simple and short-term therapy, which can be used either for treatment or prophylaxis. © 1980.
