Abstract:

Free convective mass transfer rates in packed beds of spheres and screens were measured by the electrochemical method. It was not possible to correlate the results in the usual manner employed in the analogous heat transfer problem, i.e. Nu or Sh = f(Re). The Sherwood number was correlated as follows: Sh = 0.228 (ScGr)0.32 (Rh/dp)0.22. © 1981.
