Abstract:

The present article shows the objective figures of the contributions of South American research centers to Carbohydrate Research during its 50 years of history, measured in terms of members of the Editorial Board, number of articles and citations to them, together with a country-based comparison, and the progression of these contributions with time. In addition, it also shows the subjective feelings of the author toward the same journal. © 2014 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
