Abstract:

The usefulness of synchronous luminescence spectrometry (SLS) for the analysis of complex luminescence mixtures has been recently demonstrated. It has been employed In our laboratory to study the fluorescence behavior of a natural coumarln: 7-hydroxycoumarln (7HC). The SLS spectra obtained at different pH values have demonstrated the capability of assigning the various transitions to the equilibrium forms of the 7HC. A new band with maximum at 431 nm (exciting at 345 nm) can be assigned to the catlonlc form at H0 = -6. Comparisons are made between the expected (theoretical) [formula omitted] and the experimental values, for two values of Δλ: 20 and 65 nm. © 1985, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
