Abstract:

A rapid and simplified method for the isolation of porphyrins from either body fluids or porphyrin solutions is presented. It is based on the use of the anion-exchange resin De Acidite FFiP. Adaptation of this technique for analysis of urinary porphyrin mixtures is described, and the results obtained in working with urine corresponding to human porphyria cutanea tarda, rats with experimental porphyria induced by hexachlorobenzene, and rabbits with lead poisoning are given. © 1977.
