Resumen:

Pensar en la metrología como parte de la biotecnología puede resultar inimaginable. Sin embargo, en los últimos 25 años un grupo de científicos han estado trabajando en ello, y un nuevo concepto está ganando popularidad entre la comunidad científica: la biometrología. Por esa razón, esta publicación, pretende acercar al lector los antecedentes científicos sobre la ciencia de las mediciones aplicada a la biotecnología. Se hará una breve introducción del tema abordándolo con ejemplos de sus diferentes aplicaciones para finalizar con la presentación de una definición enfocada en las ciencias de la vida.

Abstract:

Thinking of metrology as part of biotechnology can be unimaginable. However, in the last 25 years a group of scientists have been working on it and a new concept is gaining popularity among the scientific community: biometrology. For this reason, this publication aims to bring the reader closer to the scientific background on the science of measurements applied to biotechnology. A brief introduction to the topic will be made, addressing it with examples of its different applications to end with the presentation of a definition focused on the life sciences.
