Resumen:

Se estudio la posibilidad de detectar neutrinos de Majorana en la siguiente generación de colisionadores e+e− para diferentes energías de centro de masa. Se estudiaron estados finales que violan numero leptónico tales como lj∓ lk∓ + jets (lj ≡ e, μ, τ ) y son una clara señal de neutrinos de Majorana intermediarios. Las interacciones entre neutrinos de Majorana y las partículas ordinarias se modelaron por medio de un lagrangeano efectivo. Se considero el fondo debido a las reacciones del modelo estandard que pueden confundirse con la señal. Se presenta la region de descubrimiento como función de la masa de los neutrinos de Majorana y sus acoplamientos

Abstract:

We study the possibility to detect Majorana neutrinos at e+e− Next Linear Collider (NLC) for different center of mass energies. We study the lj∓ lk∓+ jets (lj ≡ e, μ, τ ) final states. Such a signal (final leptons of the same-sign) is not possible if the heavy neutrinos are Dirac particles. The considered interactions between Majorana neutrinos and Standard Model (SM) matter are obtained from a effective Lagrangian approach. For the background we considered the SM reaction e+e− → W+W+W−W−, with two W decaying to l ± + ν( ̄ν) and two W decaying to jets, which produce extra light neutrinos that scape the detection. We show the discovery region as a function of the Majorana neutrino mass and the coupling α
