Rheological parameters (G': elastic modulus and G": loss modulus) of microemulsions based systems have been measured as a function of time at different frequencies, during the gelification process. Those microemulsiones were formed by water, AOT and isooctane. Ti(BuO)₄ was added as gelification agent. Different criteria have been applied in order to determine the gelification point (G.P.). The first criterion is the classic one (inversion). The second one consists on the determination of G.P. when the value of the elasticity (measured as G') first appears. The third method consists on the plot of tgd ( = G’/G') as a function of time at different frequencies. At the G.P., tgδ should be not function of frequency and so, the intersection of the various curves should determine the G.P. There is no coincidence in the determination of G.P. following different methods. For this reason we think it would be better to talk about a "gelification zone" instead of a gelification point because it is obvious that it is a continuous transition instead of an abrupt change as in critical phenomenon happens
