En el presente trabajo se diseña, construye y se pone a punto un susceptómetro adecuado para la medición de la temperatura de Curie Tc de materiales fácilmente oxidables, como es el caso de los imanes de Nd-Fe-B. El principio en que se basa el método es el de medir la variación térmica de la susceptibilidad de los materiales magnéticos en campo alterno débil y determinar Tc a partir de esa variación. El sistema consta esencialmente de una bobina captora y una balanceadora ubicadas en el interior de una bobina mayor que produce un campo magnético H alterno. Todo el conjunto de medición se halla en el interior de un recipiente en el que se realiza vacío y que permite variar la temperatura desde temperatura ambiente hasta cerca de los 800°C. El sistema se calibró con una muestra de Ni y está siendo utilizado para la medición de temperatura de Curie en imanes de Nd-Fe-B. El sistema es confiable, fácil de usar y proporciona valores precisos de la temperatura de Curie
The design and construction of susceptometer adapted for measuring the Curie temperature T of highly reactive materials is presented. The method of measurement is based on the thermal variation of the susceptibility of magnetic materials in weak, alternating magnetic fields. T is measured from that variation. The system consist esentially of a pair of opposite pick-up coils within a larger coil that produces an alternating magnetic field H. The sample is held inside one of the coils and all the measurement system il located within a vacum chamber. The sample is heated by a resistence heater and sample temperature can be varied up to 800°C, approximately. A Ni sample was used to calibrate the system and the susceptometer is being used to measure T ̧ of Nd-Fe- B magnets. The system proved to be reliable, easy to use and provide a precise value of Curie temperature.
