In each measurement there appear fundamentally two kinds of errors: the systematic and the statistical ones. We recognize the statistical errors in the fluctuation of the results obtained when we repeat the measurements. We can decrease them obtaining an average from a great number of measurements. The systematic errors cause greater troubles. They are difficult to detect and hence to correct. An interesting and widely used method is to convert the systematic errors in statistical ones and diminish them doing a great number of measurements. We present here a simple experience, apt for undergraduate students, which illustrates this method and shows the power of statistics
